SPDC is a pre-tournament favorite and live up to its billing by walloping MCF to the score of 70-55. Erwin Betinol of SPDC scored 22 points to lead his team to victory. Betinol was supported in scoring by Merwen Remocaldo who tossed in 12 points. No other player in SPDC scored in double figure. Robert John Rulona topscored for the losing squad with 26 points.
